Deep Underground Community
(without fear or favour)
written in shared ink-stained dreams
shared where words dance in creative
woven tapestry of ethereal canvas
the unions of souls can be found
the whispered promises of love
entanglement in earthy passions
shared transcend the physical
as they are puffs of smoke
creative and heartfelt it may sound
they are born of mere words
for in deep underground
nothing is what they seem
surrender to the realm where poems reign
let us weave our tale verses entwine
creating a symphony of words
to create stories alphabets' love affair
touch of our minds both mad and divine
fire and ice spark our creative design
passion not in bodies intertwined
but in forging words unconfined
we find our refuge in this sacred place
our imaginations creating worlds, a sanctuary
the depths of our souls are unbound
each poem a love story
embraces or whispered sighs
flourishes as our creativity flies
our love-making lies
in the strokes of our pen.

pub pies
you order the pie
and trust the menu
doesn’t lie
it could be
something
unexpected,
of course,
although I doubt it
could be apple or
pork or steak and ale,
but
you think what the
hell,
as you cut into
the crust

Love > Fear
And what, please tell me, is actually important?
A tangible task would make me
much
more
comfortable.
Is it
to know the names of the birds on my morning walk,
notice the springing up of crocuses
(purple hope in a season of mud)
and to rejoice in the sunrise on my face?
After all,
I am an insignificant speck –
surely this is all that can be expected of me
as I drift, unattached,
through my brief moment in the universe.
live, laugh, love….
Or is it
to work faithfully within my abilities
accept the reality of my limitedness
and focus my gaze on those within my reach?
Engineering my significant efforts
for tangible benefit of those to whom I’m responsible --
tireless service for a prescribed purpose.
Let others take care of others,
after all, one can only do so much.
faith, family, friends…
Or is it
to feel and grieve and rage
at the plight of the oppressed,
advocating and poem-izing,
opening my heart to nameless hurts of the world?
Applying every gift, bestowed or earned
to reconciling relationships, making broken things whole
and hardened systems tender
in order to advance those I'll never meet.
act justly, love mercy, walk humbly…
Deep down, I suspect
that what’s required of me
is probably “all of the above”
because why should life be comfortable or easy?
But it’s clearly too much for a finite being
so all I know how to do is
(moment by moment)
strive to choose
grace over judgement
open over closed
love
over
fear.

They say the music stopped that day,
and in a sense that's true.
I prefer to imagine that you're still playing,
restored in body,
with the vigour of youth.
You played elaborate organ,
graceful oboe,
powerful piano,
and as professionals together,
our collaborations soared;
somehow more than their two parts.
Beyond the veil,
we can no longer play together,
and so I arranged something in your name.
The three girls and I performed it for you
but it felt like you were there
in the lines, the texture and the harmony.
It had your imprint all over it.
Were you singing along?
Should you be waiting,
taking a well-earned rest
before the great Conductor starts anew,
know this: we sense you with us now.
Even today, I hear your music;
your gift to us which never ends.
Wait there for me
to join the eternal symphony.
and in a sense that's true.

beyond the darkness
BEYOND THE DARKNESS
They print lies
they tell lies
Lies are the opiate
Lies are the orgasm
Lies are the God
They make laws
to keep is down
They send news
to take us down
They send disease
to make us down
They like down
as they know the terrain
It feels dark
It looks dark
It must be dark
so easy
to be trapped
in the dark
just turn out
the light
The cross
like a black hole
sucked all the darkness
in
The cross
the ultimate truth
made every lie
a lie
The cross
shines a light
where no darkness
can prevail
Jesus
took all I am
and had done
and will do
and made the future
a place I could rest
Jesus
emptied the darkness
and gave me
myself
Shadows fade
in the coming glory
Feel the winds
of change

EXERCISING MY DEMONS
Sick... and so goddamn tired
Of engorging my curse before the fire
Called everything from a prophet to a fucking liar
The voices will not stop
They're driving me to bedlam
Bullet to the head - straight to the top
I am exorcising
Exercising my demons
Chained... to this sinking vessel
Not screaming for help but high like a missle
Double, double toil and trouble mortar and pestle
The voices will not stop
They're driving me to bedlam
Bullet to the head - straight to the top
I am exorcising
Exercising my demons
the witch's brew
so cold and cruel
god's greatest trick
was convincing the world
that he exists
Clear... headed to the abyss
On haunted pages inked by the phantoms' kiss
I cannot kill the devil within my apocalypse
The voices will not stop
They're driving me to bedlam
Bullet to the head - straight to the top
I am exorcising
Exercising my demons
you know what they say
if you can't kll 'em

No Return
Sleepwalking through years
in and out of reality
love's butterfly flowers
scrawl their graffiti hearts
over broken walls
The saddest 'if onlys'
busting their way up through time's dirt
pleading
for one last trip
a parting shot before the fall
I know this feeling
following a wayward tern
sailing towards dawn
an island
rising from the mist
Your smile
the bait beyond the reef
two crazies waiting to be torn
chasing dead love
a dream never buried

Intoxicating Droplets...
As charcoal tufts tumble with purified droplets, floating frigid in the ether,
I await its caressing mists.
Obsidian hues imprison the periwinkle
and rolling formations of fluffy white,
as strident lashes strike lush landscapes and startle the foundations.
When the cosmos pours its liquid calm,
and relinquishes its inner chaos,
I sit in a realm of utter sereneness.
Eyes and heart filled with earnest awe.....
while the well anticipated pitter patter
and sweet perfume of petrichor
rejuvenates my senses,
and replinishes Earth's resilient floor.

he says, what have I done ..
he writes for money
firstly begging letters, and then some rather seedy journalism,
and eventually,
a few pornographic pieces for
the less
discerning papers and,
as his circulation increases,
he thinks, is this what I intended
when I was young ..

Musings
Isn't it funny how three words would illicit intense emotions?
I Love you
You feel it in your chest
You feel warmth
You feel a glow
I Want you
You feel it lower
You feel heat
You feel an intense desire.
I Hate you
You feel it everywhere
Like a whip
It aches
All this from a shot of Dark Rum
I Love you
You feel it in your chest
You feel warmth
You feel a glow
I Want you
You feel it lower
You feel heat
You feel an intense desire.
I Hate you

I cried
( my picture of the eclipse )
I broke down and I
Cried.
The Sun
Had died
In the sky.
I could not
breath.
As much
As I wanted
To try.
I thought
Death
Had come.
I wanted with him
To fly.
Will the
Moon
Release her grip
Soon
Before she finally dies?
Will the
Light
Return again
Bright
On my tired Eyes?
Will the
World
Ponder this
Wonder or
As usually deny?
Will they
Regret
The next day
Or forget
The reason why?
We are all in this
Together
All of us
Forever
You and I.
I cried and
Cried
Not for the Sun
Nor for the Moon
That’s a lie.
I cried and
Cried
For the people
For my children
Who were Nearby.
Those who had
Witnessed
This miracle
And did not
Cry.
I broke down and I
Cried.
