6/6/19 LIMERICK

The muse is a scandalous wench
Who carries a gears-crushing wrench
Her poetry limns
Sacred words like hymns
Scribbled on a greasy workbench

Can you overcome?

Our enemy once tried to seize us
with temptations he tried to please us
offered money and fame
spit up lies that were lame
thank God, we had come to know Jesus

Thank you for your two entries, Reggie.  They are structurally sound; let's see how they redound to the liberation.

Limericks: No Foul

I wake up early just to seize the day
I take my friends along to show the way
On mountaintops we’ll shout
To spread the word about
A new exciting rhyme that’s here to stay!

It’s lim’ricks safe & sane, happy & clean
G-rated “good” for pets & sans obscene
They’re all the rage this year
And fortified, I hear
It’s all clear from the Towers to the Queen.

The Lifers and the Lobbyists all pray,
Reciting lines of humor will hold sway;
To send their message clear
Without insults to jeer
As long as words are pasteurized to say.

So now in future let us not delay
In pubs & barbershops let ye make hay
Without the strain and stress
Forever may it bless
I bet it keeps the cavities away!

In closing is a final thought from me
Of Lim’s newfound respectability
You’ll always get a laugh
Just separate the chaff
To keep the faith will always be the key.

Jade-Pandora, sage all over, mammoth limerick!
On the tongue, your right of wrong flows lush and smooth and quick.

Thank you.

ADDITION BY SUBTRACTION

A manx is a cat with no tail
Some see this as a feline fail
But human offspring
Can sometimes be mean-
Reach to grab, but to no avail!

Anything For Some Bread

There was this dog of mine known as Fred
who would do anything for some bread
which happens to include
something that is not rude
such as dropping down and playing dead.

Ha ha!  Funny, Satin.
By clever abstraction
You grab much attraction.

Thanks for your entry.

Thank you for your multi-tiered pieces;
A bundle of steam each releases!
These elements, Josh,
Too cute for the trash,
Shall furnish a myriad of theses.
