How Do I Say Goodbye
The loss of a loved one, heart wrenching
The loss of my mother paralysing
When she passed, I think I died too
Nothing I imagined, unable to shine through
Eleven years, my morning unfinished
As if her value would be diminished
The strongest person I have known
I feel her absence in every bone
I know not how to be whole again
Most days, simply present, I feign
In my dreams, I feel our paths cross
Yet cannot recover from my tragic loss
The loss of a loved one, heart wrenching
