A Book of Hours
A winter sunset seems like the Limbo.
How low can it go with its golden glow?
The twilight says the party must go
if we want the constellations to show.
Only Luna pays a sunbeam forward
since all the stars are way too far away
to assist as she tugs her tides shoreward
even as we are at work, sleep, or play.
But poor souls need all the gold they can get
and the starlight helps, but is rather faint,
when sunbeams and moonlight will pay the debt...
with Aurora helping us reacquaint
those nagging...

A Tale of a Cup of Coffee
It feels safe here
A gentle escape from fame
My disguise working well
Even the guy at the Deli on the corner
Didn't pay me no mind
I asked for hazelnut instead of regular
It smells great but taste is often lacking
The story of my life wraps around coffee
I tried so hard to achieve greatness
Now hiding from the very thing I thought I wanted most
Everyone wants a piece of your privacy
Selling my soul for headlines was a mistake
I couldn't have known then, to busy with my arrogance
Shit, he put sugar in my...

Stop Hiding
Why hide?
If your feelings are real.
Where's the appeal?
Of fake faces and secret deals.
Friendships with losers,
Is that mass appeal?
Or the desperation,
You try not to reveal?
You threaten to kill.
Like it's your last meal.
I know it's all a shill.
A petty amusement and a thrill.
But what happens,
When you take that last pill?
When your fate is sealed?
And the only one you tried to convince,
Doesn't think you're real?
If your feelings are real.
Where's the appeal?
Of fake faces and secret deals.
Friendships with losers,
Is that mass appeal?
Or the desperation,
You try not to reveal?
You threaten to kill.
Like it's your last meal.

And the only one you tried to convince,
Doesn't think you're real?

my life jacket
I've been trying to figure out...
...hope
& how it works
just the latest perplexing question
incessantly plaguing me
is it something we're born with
destined to fill our hearts
...our minds
there from our first breath
left like a seed by some unseen force
perhaps a hangover from a previous life
waiting to be identified
fleshed out only
...by what we're willing to invest
as such...a fragile thing
slowly eroded by our inattention...
...repeated failure...abuse or neglect
until the last flicker is...

Plastic Coating
More than ninety percent of cadavers dissected had microplastics in brains and livers
Why is plastic still being produce and how are these microplastics being delivered
Everything from fossil fuels must be a profit way down to the last sliver
Hell yeah fucking profit over humanity now didn't that make your soul quiver
Where are these plastics coming from and how are they entering everything
Simply read the words that are written and see if anything ring
Ninety-four percent of Americans drink bottled water, now think globally
It's scientifically proven...

The Floating Rock
Perception
Perception shapes the way we see the world
It influences our actions, plans, and decisions
It can assist in building the moral compass
Understanding it creates synergy and cohesion
But a misaligned perception will create chaos
And misunderstanding and miscommunication
It can slowly chip away at the core of empathy
Eliminating any chance for joint collaboration
Reflection
Reflection measures our actions and their results
An important profound look inward when we pause
Like an evaluation...

Heaven Takes Away
Back then...
Granny had said that I was a particular child.
How I spent too much time questioning all
of the unreasonable things.
That I was tiresome to her,
when she'd take me to church, and
I wouldn't sit still while listening
to the nonsense of some mortal man
on a stage.
Because I could talk to God anytime,
without that interpreter giving me
his own version.
I'd tell granny, God doesn't see it that way.
She'd just shush me, sometimes handing me
a half-stick of gum...

Souls,
Plant flowers in open

Shards of Envy
Harmonious envy shadows of moonlight
dripping sins raining too close to touch
clutching memories of the dark's profane
life's incognito looking in from the pane
now shards of envy in the vanity's cabinet

Poem
moving the human
heart far
afield
like birds with broken
backs singing
praises to the
pain of
saints
pain makes a wounded
God take
notice
some noble cause held
captive by the dirty
virtues of
man
a rock upon which
to break the blue
skies of
heaven
heart far
afield
like birds with broken
backs singing
praises to the
pain of
saints
pain makes a wounded
God take
notice
some noble cause held
captive by the dirty
virtues of
man
a rock upon which
to break the blue
