“Marlon, I sewed your pocket.
Why not fill it up with tips?”
“My ancestors fought
In the war of liberation from Spain.”
“What in the world does that have to do with you in the present?
At least you could tell the Americans
That we don’t have welfare in Columbia
And that tips are appreciated.”
“Our pantry is always well stocked.
There is no need to abase myself for pennies.”
“You are the best tour guide in this city.
You deserve a gratuity.”
“Most of them do anyway.
No need to...

An Answer to Joseph's Marriage Proposal
Lauryn’s mind wailed for her to call a halt to this scene, but her body wouldn't obey. The bedroom, cast in the gentle glow of a bedside lamp, felt heavy with an unspoken tension. The air was heavy under the weight of decisions, and her bed covered with disheveled sheets and scattered clothes, mirrored the chaos she felt inside.
Standing naked by the window, she gazed into the night as if hoping to find solace in the city lights below. Her bedroom, once a sanctuary to their love, now seemed like a battlefield where emotions waged war against reason. The silence was...

John comes home with some unsettling news. “Gloria, my TV land wife is with child and wants to be a stay-at-home Mom.”
“You called her wife instead of the leading lady.”
“Think but this, and all is mended, that every pout advertises some lipstick and each wink is a sales pitch for mascara, while kisses are the promise of a lost passion to find its song again with Aloe Vera skin glow.”
“Your kissy-face costar is a sore subject, but not so different from me. You need a new girl on the set.”

To the groom
Hey buddy, Mr. Groom
You have always been optimistic, I mean... Look you have just put a tick in the last box, the rhetoric "it will end tears" has always been irony, you just solved the riddle.
You have put the thread right in the middle of hole in the needle.
It only meant tears of ecstasy and joy
It is your time and moment to enjoy.
It makes sense to me now that I see you teary-eyed but I tell you my brother, Even if some thing pricks your eye, don't blink as she walks down the aisle but just in case you do, videograhers have got you covered for...

the dreamless
The Dreamless
Now that he had freed himself of the past looking forward
to think thoughts not hampered by dreams of childhood and
the embarrassment of teenage years and sexual clumsiness
falling in love with the most unsuitable and undesirable person possible because she made hot waffles with blueberry jam and sometime strawberry; he still thinks of his horror when his mother thought that woman was a suitable bride for
him mainly because she was stupid and malleable.
It was that beginning that in the end made him break with his past and declare families...

Beautiful Oriental Journey of Life - Rewrite
Beautiful Oriental Journey of Life
Future life of our reborn spirits
Headed to the forbidden city
Where dreams soar like dragons
On wings of saffron visions
Born of conch echoes
Whose echo sings of ancient sutras
Flying on prayer wheels in the sky
As our hearts meet on a golden hearth
Where snowy leopards
Lay down with yaks
In peaceful pastures
My wife was still very much alive
and we were taking the train ...

As our hearts meet on a golden hearth

My wife was still very much alive
and we were taking the train ...

Alliteration After Work
The antique store is closed,
I turn off the lights with
Backroom breakers.
Set the alarm, lock the door.
Leave the empty parking lot,
Turn onto the congested four-lane
Joining the crowd of the evening commuters.
A few lights up I get on the freeway,
A concrete strip that crests and stretches down
Following the contour of the Appalachian foothills,
A twenty minute drive at seventy miles an hour
Before my exit onto the sideroads and
County backroads lined by pickled pine
Power poles, preserved green
With alkaline copper...
