The Fairy's Hornbeam Staircase
I had always wondered about the Hornbeam
That grew within a nearby park
Twas a wondrous magical tree
Especially under the moonlight, and the dark
And one such night i visited it
When the moon was full, and knowing
The fairy dust flew all around
As the tree began a-glowing
And from its base, a staircase formed
All bright, and shiny, and gold
It led up to its highest branches
A deep mystery to unfold
This profound vision, aroused my senses
As i proceeded to its base
And stepped upon the very first step ...

The Fountain of Death
- The Fountain of Death -
Diego Cruz was awakened in the middle of the pitch-black of those dark hours past midnight, and as he did awaken... he felt a sense of dread creeping upon him. Instinctively, he reached for the long sword that lay nearby, on the large sack full of supplies that the native bearers had brought and laid in his tent with much care. He nearly tripped on the animal skins that covered the ground, but caught himself so as to not fall. It had been raining most of the previous day, and camp had been set up to wait out the rain... but this had halted the expedition...

origins of psychosexual creation
From the meager offerings
of an untamed dervish...
thralls of metamorphosis—oh how they call out!
I hear the aching whistles
through howling winds
delicate screams echo from midnight's breast
this body dances to and fro
in automatic rhythmic swirls
true sanctuary begets insatiable hunger
upon sweetest lips, promises sing-song
hypnotic trance-like dreams
beckon purification by fired desire
dangerous, in reality
twine imaginations darkly forge together
in fiendish fortune
we carve out these...

The Symbiocene in Waiting
"A word is more than a mere combination of letters and sounds.
The potency of words reaches the substrata of all of us.
Words carry culture, carry history;
they form and confine our thoughts.
Words matter."

fog
I walked into the fog of a spell
avoiding it was impossible
for I was born blind (blindness the sin –
see at any cost) like all,
a fog lain over the land where we dwell:
see it too late – it covers itself.
when all becomes fog, world becomes bathed in gray
we become accustomed to limited spectrums
within our conception
what breaks our perception?
given a cure – then it's taken away
or diverts the curse into new dimension:
symbols are abstracts; the ocean is mere introspection
look inward, into the fog – fog has settled there ...

The One Winged Butterfly
She'd been lucky once
As a caterpillar
dropped from the beak
Of a hungry Sparrow
This time though
As a full grown butterfly
She'd been breeze blown
Into a somewhat sticky, and dewy
Spiders web
And when she saw the spider
With it's seven legs
Moving across the web towards her
She knew that this was it
Just hoping it would be quick
And just as the spider
Was about to weave
What would of been an ironic cocoon
Within a silken purse
A heavy bumble bee
Came crashing through the cobweb
Blown off...

New Orleans dreams, and you
Drunk on jazz and daiquiris
on a street corner that
smells of piss and vomit
sweat drips between
my breasts as the
psychics call
to read my fortune
and I can feel
voodoo like a
love-spell spider
trigger my
sympathetic
nervous
system
into fight or…
Shhhhhhhhh
Everything
s l o w s
down
icy wind skitters
across my sun-burned shoulders
and my pupils go
opium black,
nostrils flare as
the smell
(of you)
drifts by ...

Goblin Queen
- Goblin Queen -
A Tribute to the Movie Labyrinth
Ah sweetest madness that is mine!
The king of the dark realm of Faerie,
King of goblins and creatures dark…
From beyond the counting of time:
In androgynous glory, he came to me.
Did he hear me reading in the park?
The book of the Labyrinth, secret old,
Holding insanity mortals never know:
Until it is too late to reconsider again!
Have I sold my soul, or my brother’s?
The clock ticks, and he will change…
By the magic of the mad goblin king,
That god who knows my every...

Papa Bird, the Old Wizard
One night a country bumpkin told his friends an incredible story about an old wizard named Papa Bird. He resided alone in the mountainous area of Westmoreland. The people of the district said that he was an obeah man, but he regarded himself as a scientist. Papa Bird was no ordinary wizard; his magic was real. Moreover, he had strong supernatural powers.
All the witches and wizards in the district feared him because they were charlatans. Papa bird’s house was on top of a hill, and every day he would sit on the verandah and look down in the valley. When people wanted to visit...

The Magnificent
Walternate Universe – MAGS-94
The portal opened in the mezzanine of an empty old style theater
From there I could hear someone working over by the stage floor
As I walked down the isle between the seats I could see my brace blinking
My parallel self here was the likes of something I’d never seen before
“Hold it right there!” I heard his voice echoing across the ceiling
I had a feeling this alternate of mine was going to blow my mind
He was floating in mid-air about twenty feet over my head revealing
No wires, no harness, no...

In The Beginning
There was a Universal Shroud of Turin
a Matrix of crumbed vertebrate
stained with light and debris:
webbed particles
multicellular life
a mycelium
of unsolved mystery
plaguing humankind with a gravity
they were determined to defy
13.8 billion years of expansion
trillions of galaxies and stars
beyond their comprehension
ungrounded contentment
and magnified desire
Bridges of technological design
are manufactured—
fueled by resources
meant to sustain Life ...
