SHALL I COMPARE THEE....
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day,
if it moves you to lead me to the hay,
warmed by the waters of the flattery
poured out over your physical beauty -
or will you be the unmoved ice maiden
who insists on keeping your knickers on?
if it moves you to lead me to the hay,
warmed by the waters of the flattery
poured out over your physical beauty -
or will you be the unmoved ice maiden
who insists on keeping your knickers on?

Starfilled Shore
It was a serene night.
And stars were in sight.
You began to walk down the shore.
On the sand filled,ground floor.
You began to walk as you got out of the door.
The stars were twinkling in the sky.
Like nightlights far away.
Maybe you seek peace.
Or a place to collect your thoughts.
Maybe you wanted silence.
And to drown out the negative thoughts.
Out on the shore, sat a girl as pretty as can be.
She had bright,blue siren eyes.
She had red hair,love symbolize.
Her lips were a share of red.

2025
Be humble; but don’t let your spirit be dimmed
Wear pride like a crown when the odds have been skimmed
Be clever; yet know when to play the fool
Break a few rules, but don’t forget the school
Be righteous; but wickedness too has its day
When kindness wanes; let boldness lead the way
Be the shepherd; but sometimes join the flock
Walk with the crowd; yet let your dreams unlock.
Be hopeful; but learn when to let dreams go
Fight for what's right; yet embrace the ebb and flow
Be kind-hearted; but guard your soul’s embrace
Give no...

Echos
Unfurled I swirl for loves complete collapse
Fall for its sharp heartbreak everlasting
I kneel for you to pull the wool over
Take what you want without ever asking
Caress the mess that I buried away
At best it served to put me in my place
Cornered like a rat in your catacombs
I never got to see where your heart is
Shovel in the courtyard; jaded arms race
Your signature in layers of blue mist
Black words, skeletons altered and risen
An echo roars familiar and distant.
Fall for its sharp heartbreak everlasting
I kneel for you to pull the wool over
Take what you want without ever asking
Caress the mess that I buried away
At best it served to put me in my place

2025 Prayer
On a chilly northern beach
A white shell
And a red rock
One shimmering on a shrine
Before the frigid gentle waves
One tucked into a driftwood nest
Both blessed
by the proclamations of a child
born of innocent belief
That these “prayer rocks”
Might hold powers of relief
From our hurts and troubles
So I placed my offerings there
selected for beauty and uniqueness
with particular care
To these unknown beach-side gods
With my whispered requests
That 2025 might be OUR year
That we might...

Something Changed
From the birth of childhood cycle wheels
to aeroplane cancer fumes,
it’s good to have an end to journey towards
but it’s the journey which matters, in the end.
Bon voyage to ymdait
tell me amusingly you
googled translated the English into Welsh,
I bit the Cymru into your neck.
The sunlight disrobed your negligee
in pale shadows of the moon’s forgetfulness,
told me the day belonged to you and me.
Dawn, dusk and the daily rise
of jury over persecution
Oh. tell me the story again,
London lawyer, Brighton...

Haunting My Mind
Mmmmm
Ahhh
Misty-colored memories
Rise to the surface
Sexy saxophone offerings
You’re haunting
My mind again
Mmmm
Mmmm
Boardwalk cafe
Fingertips talk
Lips brush softly
Voices soft
Promises made
Dreams take flight
Sacred bonds
Two hearts unite
Mmmm
Mmmm
Waves roll in
Salt scents the air
She quietly sighs
As he caresses her hair
Windswept platform
Hollow sounds
Scattered leaves
Memories...

The eve of new year 2025
I'm going out not knowing.
hoping to find some knowing.
This year has been a trike.
Hoping next years betta.
Or at least no worst.
Through there's room
A plenty for betta.
For me and all others.
Other year...
lured by a lover.
This time last year.
Future promising looked.
Lover left me.
Off with my best friend.
Oh I do miss the fella lol.
Other things other.
Didn't seem to go right.
Going with the flow do I.
The ebb & flow of the tide. ...

Deeper Underground I Go
I can’t count the number
of poems I’ve expelled
beyond the busted seams
of experience
As if those seams could keep
the poems from my voice
How many emotions
were galactic tapestries
unraveling from a solar plexus
storing so many lives
How many verses reflect
the present
versus the ghosts
of a former century
And yet,
deeper underground
I go
The trick to navigating
the bowels of the beast
is not succumbing
to illusion over...

“A Letter To You”
He says he’s a changed man
Believing in the faith as she does.
He’s speaking all the right words now,
But somehow, she can’t seem to hold on to him.
She tells him she doesn’t want a relationship,
But maybe it’s her heart that no longer knows love.
Her guilt lingers in a purgatory state,
And each breath she inhales feels like a weight being added on
She writes about him, and the ink turns into longing,
Making her question if she’s still in love.
These feelings, a labyrinth of confusion,
She had never been here...

Seaside
The sea
The gentle lap of waves
And boards weathered gray
Some split or warped
Along the dock
Strung with fenders of plastic and tires
And near the end of hemp
Worn and battered
And I wonder when, if ever, all of this was new
Salt air and the thought of you
Chimes my mind of distant reveries
And I think of your words
Dancing between them to catch glimpses of you
Certain phrases give weight to the air
As I leave the pier
Wandering past wood pilings and beach grass
Down to where water meets the sand
And...
