Day by Day
Emotional memories
flood my existence
like a structurally
damaged dam
Forcing me to face
the man that I am
Or at least what’s become
of this shallow and broken
vessel version of a man
Whose reflected image
was nothing but so much of an
enclosed sham
Rebooting and resetting
as if I were an infected program
When did it all go wrong?
When did I go wrong?
Early mornings encircle
my miserable conundrum
like maddening hunger enraged
vultures on the prowl

Buried On The Surface
The sun walks slowly to its sepulture
in the horizon, the death of a day
as the cooling blanket of night covers
her creatures all, the beasts and the lovers
Moonlight caresses the catafalque stone
as if to query the desire to rise
whispers of the ancient ones sing to me
hymns of the lost souls, longing to be free
The night is clear though I see no starlight
wrought with the overcast of emotions
such a deluge, this downpour of desire
moving me, as sights and sounds inspire
Walking the world unseen and...

Burying my head in her hands
I’m transported back home
Harkening to little footsteps roam
My wife is out with her friends
In search of her afterparty cleanse
The night is still young
I taste its intentions on my tongue
Time for my daughter’s dreams to ascend

I look to the empty box
white cursor blinking
Sigh
I start the tune app and wait for it to load
I don't want it to
Then Ill have to see the 1st song

It's loaded
I stir my coffee for a full minute
In nervous diversion
Pills!
I get up and fill my special cup

Walk to walk
And talk the talk
It was all that mattered
for long
It deterred,
Each blood stain
That crossed through,
the power pressing
against chests,
Digest,
Walk the walk
and talk the talk
no more time is left
to pick up what was left,
unsolved,
this and that
answers lost,
as you walk the walk

makes no sense,
that’s how
easy stuff
get not
figured out
the lost and the gain,
two sides and a coin,
