The “Pale_Black” moon woke up from its slumber
As she stood there sipping from her tumbler
The “LadyKilla” stared blankly “IntoTheRain”
As her thoughts raced like a “runaway-mindtrain”
Her “SadSmiles” had taken a toll as she lived in “JasperSilence”
Neighbors were clueless of her fits of violence.
She was the one with the “RetainedThoughts”
A “PsycoticMastermind” that had never been caught.
With her “DeepCoolBlue” eyes
She was able to hypnotize
Her next victim she hunted down like a “StreetRabbit”
As she did all her others...

a day in Cascais
A day in Cascais
Storms and rain have blown away
Green grass grows on cracked pavement
This place was once a low-slung hill
With small farms and animals
The landscape disappeared under concrete
Apartment blocks and shops
A tree-lined avenue, the town’s pride
Up-rooted trees from somewhere else
Re-planted
The trees found rich soil, have big leaves
Looks great in spring
Is this progress, but the struggling grass
On the pavement’s cracks
Will one day make a landscape rich and green

Someone poured stars in your eyes
brilliance within blue green skies
nestled behind shades of grey
taking the nightmares away
Kindness that none can compare
autumn leaves fall from your hair
dancing to songs in your smile
please may I stay here awhile
I’ve built a room in my heart
always been yours from the start
petals as soft as your skin
open the door let me in
Ne’er shall your beauty subside
here in my mind it will hide
cobblestone paths so sublime
Writing our love with this rhyme

those who work at night are stirring
drink coffee, shower and dress
to look their best
This as the multitude drive home
for the week end
The police are busy, a rich person
was shot by what appears to be
by a charming man with a winning
smile, but was he a man?
We live in a time when many women
strive to look like men, because
they think men have more power
when they realize it is not, so blame
the capitalist system

The End of a Life
The call we had expected came this morning
her brother had died, death had for a long time coming
He was a great talker but lost the ability to speak
he could no longer smile or cry, show emotion, to
protest, to scream, a body still in a hospice bed
His family is in mourning but also relieved, too

penniless in Le Havre edited stuff
Penniless in le Havre.
In the time of my nadir penniless in Le Havre
in the drizzle, I saw the blue neon light of a bar
I met sailors from my country
they gave me cigarettes and wine
also money so I could take the train home
thanks to the generosity of the poor
I had a pencil and a block of paper and tried to
collect my thoughts of what I was thinking.
Found I was more educated than I thought
that is what reading a thousand books does to your brain confuse
you to believe that you are better than others.

The dog of my life
This is not an evening when one feels jubilant
When I look out of the window, I see a few cars going up and down the road till they reach the roundabout and drive back past my window
There is nothing to be surprised about in this town, dramatic car crashes happen in America
Where Hollywood is afire
When I lived in the countryside and had a dog
We walked in the forest and there were always new things to discover, often we stood still and listened to the silence, we could hear trees Coming home I lit the wood stove while the dog

Shiny time
The glittering sea, golden sand

the last bus
That is a day for us losers. No, this is not about the climate
it does well, a dollop of sun there and a splash of rain there, not asking for anyone’s permission
With losers, I mean us who have managed to get old
but living wildly and not going for longevity
That makes us miserable because we have nothing
to look back on and say, sure, I did that
It is not that we didn’t try to make a mark, but
Booze and women got in the way, conquest
a whore in every port
Some of us tried to make a mark by scribbling
Our thoughts on a sheet of paper...
