Blue Winter
not always
going about
in quiet
footsteps,
the late
processions
better
when
not alone,
bring yourself
if you must,
I will watch
but may not
participate,
may not
turn to joy
at the thoughts
of each
breath
you take.

Beautiful Anchor
I feel the winds of change
Caress my body like an
Ocean breeze instilling
Confidence in my ability
To make waves in frozen
Water
I wrap myself in the
Ashes from unfortunate
Incidents and revive them
In a positive light slowly
Facing them with an
understanding mind set
And watch as the war
Between my heart and
Mind fade
I extract the melody
From the birds and
Use the feathers as a
Brush to paint each note
Using every shade of my
Newly developed personality
And inject it...

Don't look to me
Don't look to me
When questions go unanswered
You're searching for answers
I can't see
An analytical mind
Lost in a Picasso world
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder
So tell me what you see
Don't look to me
I can't be your guide
Take what you need
And leave the rest behind
Let the words speak for themselves
They speak in many colors
For many different ears
So don't look to me
Tell me what you hear
When questions go unanswered
You're searching for answers
I can't see
An analytical mind
Lost in a Picasso world
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder

DARING TO BE ME (# 15 )
EARS
In high school, years ago,
a wise teacher planted
a seed in my mind,
that, sadly, I should have
paid more attention to.
She said, "We've been given
two ears and one tongue,
which means we need to
listen twice as much
as we talk."
COMMUNICATION.
Communication, especially the
factor of listening is attributed
as the cause of many, if not most,
breakups, disagreement, and
hurts among couples.
I used to say in the midst
of heated words, when asked,
"Did you hear me?", I would...

Herbs for a Dying Child
pick young leaves for herbs to make
in cauldron wide in isolated
hut in forest deep
dying child on bed did sleep
waiting for poultice cool
to lower fever on her brow
alas the child went home
next night on angels wings
while mother wept her bitter tears
home she went through forest
traverse un-minding of thorns
watched the shaman sombre at the door

OBSERVATIONS
I find it interesting
but not surprising,
relative to the comments
about this series.
ALL
are welcomed and appreciated;
some have caused me
to pause and think
a few have cast temptation
on my human E-G-O:
which means "Easing
Graciousness Out."
It is a known fact that
each person reads and
interprets words based
on their own compass and
past and present destinies.
In referencing sexuality
some think I am promoting,
which is okay, bisexualism,
transsexualism, and even...

DARING TO BE ME (#9)
WONDER
I have often wondered
what would happen
if two persons who
dared to be themselves
would be like.
WORDS.
What words would
pass between them?
How open would they
be to share desires?
WOULD
there still be the
old shield of "If
you knew me and what
I desire you wouldn't
want to go on?"
GUESSING
can be a trap game
which leaves both out
of the winner's circle,
still wishing for the
REALITY
of experiencing a
"Dare to be me" moment
as the aches and throbs
add...

DARING TO BE ME (# 4)
YES!
As I come face-to-face
with the person who
resides in the deep
and secret places in
my heart, soul, and spirit,
I am encouraged, challenged,
and rebuked. Some I knew
and freely admitted, others
I was either blinded by my
prejudices, ignorance, or
FEAR.
Life is made up of
numerous categories, some
of which we control, some
of which we allow limited
freedom, and some we
deny or argue they don't
EXIST.
When two open and
honest hearts come together,
regardless of the purposes, ...

within thin air.
it's easy to forget
that real feelings
hearts,
minds
and souls
reside on the other end
of pure earnest words
we beat
we bleed
we aspire
not a disregarded vapor
at times,
we're the most definitive
and more real than anything before it

THINGS THAT CAN'T BE RECALLED
LESSON
A wise philosopher,
wish I knew his name,
once wrote:
"There are three
things which cannot
be recalled or once
again had:
A spent
arrow once it has
left the bow.
A once in a lifetime
opportunity that
has been spurned.
And a word hastily
spoke, once it leaves
your lips it can't be
retrieved to your mouth."
I was thinking this third
one is also true relative
to written words that have
been launched by the send
or print button.
I am under a new vow
to be more...

HOW TO MISUNDERSTAND A POET
OBSERVATION
Writers and especially
those who choose
a poetic style are
