Down But Never Out
Some of you thought that my last little Boo, was nothing but a trick whore
But that's because her true value, she just didn't know
Easy to bend, she fell victim to anything with a dick
They all sat out to abuse her ass, but admitted that Boo was thick
But my Boo was in the game, since way back in the days
She was more than a one night stand, she had lived the home way
The friday nights payoffs, swerving curves looking for a party
Sundays down by the lake giviing it up on the back of his Harley
She thought what's the difference a nght, a...

Blackie's Poem
Blackie's Poem
We walked outside,
you right beside me
and we would go wherever
we wanted to go.
Every day we would walk,
our special time together,
unless there was rain
but even you did not mind the snow.
You would smell the bushes
and eat grass a little.
You would run across now, “Blackie's Field,”
paws up on your favorite tree.
Yeah, we walked around
and you became quite famous
for the cat that you had come to be.
Now I still walk with Midas and Baxter
as I...

J
She grew up with a coffin
as a coffee table
knows way too much about guns
loves bad boys who fuck
like demi gods
and hates being alone
She spends half her time stoned
is a good mum
with the patience of a saint
can't cook anything
that doesn't come out of a packet
she makes chicken nuggets
look like a gourmet meal
and has asked me so many times
to teach her how to cook
though we never find the time
She's been clean 6 years now
lost custody of her kid
for being a meth head ...

Looking Down My Street
Looking down my tree lined street
the setting sun casts her glow
upon the Chestnuts, Maples, and Oaks
dressed in worn out yellow ribbons
telling the story of friendship and loss
strength and courage.
How there was hope and there were dreams.
That life wouldn't pull us apart.
There was community and passion
and smiles each time you went through that revolving door.
We prayed, yes we prayed for us that we wouldn't lose you
that we wouldn't be missing someone so true.
I raise my head up to the skies
washing away a lingering...

Billy and Bobby Greenfrog
BILLY AND BOBBY GREENFROG
Billy and Bobby Greenfrog lived in the pond behind the Sutter place. The two shared a lily pad on the
eastern side of the pond. Billy and Bobby were talking one day. Billy said, “Bobby, I have been thinking of
moving to a lily pad in the center of the pond. They are bigger there and we are getting cramped on this
little pad with all of our stuff.”
Bobby replied, “We sure are Billy but how are we going to move? We collected
all of this stuff when we were already living here. That...

March Ides-Eve: You Beside Me
I showed you how beautiful our days could be.
I proved how serious I am
about not being too serious
about anything that doesn't matter.
When I bought tortoiseshell, octagonal
gas station sunglasses
for seven bucks,
and snacks for our newest adventure,
you were right by my side -
the acid was starting to kick in,
and my favorite day ever was soon to begin.
We walked all over the back of the Beast,
sometimes hiking on just to our breathing -
sometimes laughing till the point of weeping,
and...

Irrelevant
You know, I think I figured out why I
Hate you so much: you make me feel
Irrelevant.
I had a feeling, you know.
I was ok when summer ended,
But by Thanksgiving break, you liked
Them more than you would ever like me.
I know it wasn’t intended to hurt me, (or maybe it was),
But do you remember that Snapchat from November?
Every other answer had a reason on why you picked the
Other option, but mine. You chose Emily over me.
That’s when I knew. At the time I was ok with it.
When I was added to the group...

Religious Intolerance, and An Angel Named Lena
The tension was building up at home, this time with Brian, a heavy smoker who'd begun going to parties at weekends and getting drunk. He was sixteen and studying for his A'levels at the grammar school. Like Robin and I, he longed for a normal childhood. He had a number of friends in the neighbourhood, all of whom had gone to the local comprehensive. Whilst he showed exceptional talent and had no objection to studying hard at the grammar school, he disliked having to cycle to the Rabbi's house several evenings a week to study the sacred Hebrew books. For him, the memories of summer holidays...

Light in the darkness
I am your friend
A soul for your soul.
A place for your life.
Home.
Know this."
I wanted so badly to message her
but she deserves better
than other peoples
drunken
insecurities
at 2am
I always felt
like a woman of fire
and that made loving hard
to say the least
but this
this is a poem
and I am a writer
and she makes me want
to scream
so profoundly
and loudly
that it doesn't just scar with emotion
but it lifts me off my feet ...

Medusa And Me
The first time that I met Medusa was at a summer time cookout. I had a friend at the time that wasn’t just a coworker, but he lived within ten minutes of my house. I don’t usually hit up the backyard parties, there’s usually far to many freeloaders. You know the type people that I mean, the type that arrive uninvited baring nothing. They eat and drink nonstop, they get full, they get high, and then they try to take over your home. I personally try to avoid what is inevitable at these events. But my coworker, Greg, is on the up and up. There’s no one walking up onto his property without being...

Familiar Spirit
(Picture credit to: NAOKI NISHIMURA of Pixabay.com)
Do you ever sit in a coffee shop just waiting?
Waiting for that special someone to come along?
I always give people the benefit of the doubt.
Always giving that special one authoritarian control.
I’m not so sure you want to make the time to be in my life anymore.
You sure came on strong, referring to me as your friend even. Now I’m the enemy.
But I do have needs. I’m sure we all do. Even you.
You were indeed needy. I could tell.
I’d still like to be your...
