Or hope to be
Like he
Though he’d deny
Why
My friend Sam
The not so simple man
I lead the caravan
Me, his number one fan
See, it goes something like this
For us dreamers who’s lives have gone amiss
We look to the one whose compass doesn’t drift
Even though he thinks he doesn’t have a grip
It’s how he roams these halls
His vulnerabilities telling all
He’s the kind of guy who thinks he’s small
When quite honestly, he’s the tallest of all
He’s not afraid to tell us of his kinks ...

Often saying the quiet part out loud
Throwing barbs from the kitchen sink
He knows how to provoke the proud
Underneath the darkness there is light
Hidden in metaphor or lurking in humor
Doesn’t pull punches or throw the fight
A warning to the fainthearted consumer
Sticks and stones often break bones
While words bring out honest results
So put down the fucking smartphones
He’s taking down cults and weak adults
His visions are packed full of insanity

False pictures around my face
False hands around my place
Can't breathe behind this haze
No, this isn't some temporary phase
Enemy or friend
To fall or to stand
Can you tell me when does it end?
Your smiling means to hate
Same words from the same tape
Lying and fake
It's plain to see, but hard to take
Going over the thin ice
Before you speak think twice
You rape my mind with lies

Hello to everyone
I was going to make this a speak easy thread, but I wasn't sure all of you would be up to reading a thread. I just want to thank all of you who have entered my competitions in the past and the current ones.
I am so happy to be part of this DUP community. The openness of the writing, whether dark or erotic, is fantastic. Everyone has their reasons for writing and what they want the reader to feel, and we tend to go off course sometimes of what the writer meant. At the same time, the fact that we felt anything at all is a plus.
I'm not going to go too far into...

No victory is victory
without some type of loss;
a cost too often some won't see,
like a greedy boss.
He knows the bucks that he must spend
and those that must stop here,
but all the rest will be his friend
much more than any peer.
And so in effort he must win
come hell or water high,
where freedom lets his greed begin,
and warriors to die.
And that's why payoff needs to be
where only colleagues tread
into a future, equally,
so no one winds up dead.
