December Roses
You were there in the middle of the roses,
like a dragon that doesn't speak any language,
as if a cat had eaten your tongue,
as if at all costs you wanted
to learn the language of flowers...
and all the roses smelled of blood
and all the air circulated in veins...
you were there in the middle
of the reddest of crimsons.
Not even the blue of your eyes
could compete with it.
Only the deep black of your dreams
had the nerve to disguise itself
as a thorn among so many roses.
like a dragon that doesn't speak any language,
as if a cat had eaten your tongue,
as if at all costs you wanted
to learn the language of flowers...
and all the roses smelled of blood
and all the air circulated in veins...
you were there in the middle
of the reddest of crimsons.
Not even the blue of your eyes
could compete with it.
Only the deep black of your dreams
had the nerve to disguise itself
as a thorn among so many roses.

Spring Child,
The solemn rain
Washes away
Uncovers truth
Manna from the clouds
To earth, a gift to you
The effervescent reflection
In the stormy grey peace
It stills, within your soul
Spring child,
As the tulips bloom
Sol returns home
For you
Their petals open, in delight
As they celebrate
Another year of your life
In the verdant lush,
As pastel hues rush forth
The hush of winter yields,
Into meadows and fields
Blossoms grace the silence
Of the solitude, in...

Soft and Wet
Sweeter Than Honey
A poetess makes love
with her alluring words
and lays them down
upon a dreamscape
silken bed as a covering
for fixated eyes
to slide under them
and softy enjoy
the honeyed enticements
The Color Of My Faith
The color of my faith
Seen in the Heavens of blue
Unlocking
The true potential of my soul
In The Stratosphere
In the stratosphere
High above the moon
I hear your spiritual teaching ...

hum
compelling notes amuse me
seeking the melody I hear
the source of it, nature herself
green humming quietly in the background
blue floating above
yellow lighting on my soul making it shiny
the trees gently sing songs of joy, songs of sorrow
they record history and if you're listening retell it
busily tending the flowers below
shading them, so their tender blooms don't burn
the flowers sing along with the others in soprano
sweet little voices, of angels
accompanied by the hummingbirds
carefully delivering pollen...

A Touch of Spring
There's the soft lift of blue that carries the song of birds to touch the clouds
And green
The world's turned green again
From raggedy lawn
Growing free before the first cutting
Yearning in the sun
Softly rippling
As the cool of the breeze
Wends its way
In that peculiar cool to the warmth of the day
Like the last fading echoes of winter forgot
In the lavender and dogwoods
Pink and white which are scattered
Among the green of leaves and buds
Of trees in varied shades of green
For today is awake to things
Like life...

Roses are whatever
roses are red
Violets are blue
This formats clichéd
Try something new
roses are black
tulips are white
you and I are as different
as day is to night
roses will bloom
but then they will die
lovers live bliss
but soon they will cry
roses are red
carnations are cheap
settle for those
if your pockets aren't deep
roses are thorny
couplets are corny
you are just waiting
for me to say horny
roses are red
love fills me with dread
it never lasts
it starts...

they’re not there for long
took a photograph of the bluebells in the wood before they died back in the day someone would have painted them

The Loitering Twilight
There was thunder in the air
It arrived with the July Sun
The kind of night
That drains the love from a man's heart
Leaving a wild hate unchecked
On nights like these
Insomniacs dream of sleep
Flowers ooze a heavy scent
And the twilight lasts for hours
It arrived with the July Sun
The kind of night
That drains the love from a man's heart
Leaving a wild hate unchecked
On nights like these
Insomniacs dream of sleep
Flowers ooze a heavy scent
And the twilight lasts for hours

Flowers
why give a gift of death...
and call it love?
funny as young boys
we grow up indoctrinated
signifying a woman's worth
by uprooting flowers from the earth
cutting them off from
the sun and the soil and the rain
placing them in plain sight
in that very expensive fancy vase
as an undying expression of affection
knowing full well
they will wilt and they will die
much sooner than they were destined
as a symbolic sacrifice of
everlasting love..
