Hydrangeas
She was a good wife
Married for over 40 years
She was warm, considerate and always willing & able to help someone
Her talent was making beautiful, colorful gardens all around her property
She also donated her time to the arboretum
This year things have been different for her
She was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer
Her ability to work on the yard and create beautiful, majestic gardens have been impossible
She's very ill
She can't maneuver like she use to
Her husband doesn't have a green thumb
For the 1st time in over 40 years,...

False Flower
I was once a beautiful flower
Bursting with life
Petal were strong
Demanding all of you to keep me in your sight
Then one day, out of the blue
Another flower blooms
Right next to me, know who
I was in her shadow
I could not be seen
“Hey, I was here first.”
Why are you so mean?
Then a frost came
And she slowly started to go down
Why did it not affect me?
Why do I wear this frown?
She looked at me and with her last breath
Because we knew she was so close to death
“Do not be sad, you were...

A Solitary Daisy
Planted along a worn rickety fence
In the front yard of a paint peeled white house
Stands a solitary daisy
Among blades of grass taller than she
A waft of her feint cheerful scent
Carried by the warm summer morning breeze
Brushes past me as I bend to bend to pick her
I am amazed at the simplicity she radiates
Graceful, dainty petals swaying
Strong, rooted stem giving way
I tenderly place her in my long, curly fire hair
Humbled by her innocence
I seemingly become to be as...

the day awoke me slowly
with her vibrant vibrations, she lured me out of the sleepiness, of dreams
swaying in her energy, I open my eyes and look around me
trees utter wisdom
flowers in their beds, shook the dew from their dozy heads
slowly opening to the sunshine
while the day began her lessons for the day
shyness came to behold, the dawn
late for class, her mother admonished
the world is interactive, be kind to her she'll be kind to you
gentle understanding between a child and her mother
spark the child's imagination ...

The honesty plants, standing still,
all sport a misty moonbeam glow
by quarter phase lunar halo
commanding her December chill
by hallowed fringe of sovereign gold
surrounded by a hint of peach
as if it had that tint to teach
these last few weeks of autumn cold,
where silver dollars, still standing,
are seemingly eager to earn
a lunar lesson where they learn
how to keep their coins blanding
and as transparent as a ghost...
where eidolon itself osmosed.

heartbeats sync beneath the stars,
love's sweet clever lies.
Chocolate whispers melt,
roses blush with secret winks,
passions stealthy pelt.
Letters bloom with glee,
witty verses set hearts free,
valentine's decree.
Roses red and bright,
love's whispers in moonlit night,
hearts take soaring flight.
In this tryst we bloom,
cupid's arrows break the gloom,
