The Fairy Whisperer
She meets with her little fairy friend
At the rock agreed upon
It's her favorite thing to do
Quite early before dawn
They discuss the ocean's secrets
As they sit side by side
They have their little tales to share
Of the seahorses, dolphins and whales
At the rock agreed upon
It's her favorite thing to do
Quite early before dawn
They discuss the ocean's secrets
As they sit side by side
They have their little tales to share
Of the seahorses, dolphins and whales

At The Fish Houses ( After Elizabeth Bishop )
Necessity in death and dying;
its cold nature a hardened breast
of rocks nursing the evolution
of time and time gone by
Come the coastline in season
burning its way through glassy sand
shattered shards of granules
sinking beneath its watery breath
You remembered your mother
that Nova Scotian ice-rattle of lungs;
their spindly pinnacles dissolving
under arthritic air brittle with bone
You sit, serenading a seal
its interest lacking in...

There is Transformation in Death
For some species on earth,
there is transformation in death, a renaissance
if you will, becoming young all over again, whether you
see it as reincarnation or rebirth, a new life begins. There is
transformation in death, some lifeforms can be considered
immortal, the cycle continues underneath the ocean waves,
filling the sea with vibrant and deadly limbs. But that’s the
way nature has made them out to be, a wonderful creation of
beauty and wonder, for when their time comes, ...

child on the river
know fishermen say a large metal hook through its lip doesn’t
hurt it seems unlikely however,
I prefer a butterfly net

on the banks of the rio grande
A river that feeds a village is better than an ocean
that merely decorates an island.” ―Matshona Dhliwayo
that’s where the local barefoot boys
unearth fresh worms for bait
as fishermen, midst egret noise,
wait for the river’s spate
to trickle to a steady flow
before they toss torn nets
at chances—they suppose—below
might change vile epithets.
that’s where the bursting nets offload
the burden of their catch
as pent-up agonies explode
beneath the village watch.
fleet, broad-hipped vendors de-compose ...

I Swear, Guys! I Really Saw A Genuine Mermaid!
Matthew
walked over to
the lake and saw some chick
smiling at him before she turned
and flashed her fish tail before swimming home.

Catch and Release
Baited by a thought
The molest of exploited immodesty
It’s buy one body get one soul
When attraction is an overpriced commodity
Two edges of the same fight
When flirting on the fringe
Responsibilities thrown to the wind
Sedated by these images
Fed through the minds syringe
Subtleties of seductions lure causing us to bend
Hooker, lie, and drowning
Adulterated hearts
Tricking for cheap affections
Reputation suicide
Sell yourself for parts
We melt like water soluble metal
When integrity is poured...
