Wet Fish, Demur
Wet Fish, Demur
(& poor torpor me)
(Twenty-one of 30 -- Official DUP NaPo/GloPoWrimo 2019)
You tell me!
What does a wet fish
have to worry about?
They swim
& their swim
persists.
So why
the lay down
hesitation?
Why resist?
Although,
a wet fish,
demur,
would I
be sinful,
lustful,
impure,
to take down
pounce upon
something
this sure?!
Writhing
out of their element
laying ever so still ----

Something Fishy
i saw a pregnant goldfish once,
or maybe it was overfed,
but when i checked next morning,
it had grown another head....

Mother Goose
I could never sing the song whistled by the prettiest bird of flight.
Though light holds no direction, nor conviction
I have a restriction reigning on a thistle path of night.
Vines they intertwine,
Dance dance about my feathers.
Divine shines inhabit not a cloud of my weather.
Withered, webbed, rubber legs
Wading.
Waiting.
Amidst muddy water.
I am the daughter of her speckled egg.
I cracked it's casing with a baby beak.
To find the rotten ovals of the others a resting wreak.

To Fish In The Cyber Sea
Always does this generic guy abhor
inflicting pain and suffering,
hence I haint n'er fished before,
and even metaphorically
referencing piscine creatures
(strictly as prosaic analogy),
aye reel lee deplore
causing deliberate suffering vehemently
contradicts my credo,
dogma, ethos, et cetera
within and/or without, the

this Homo sapien doth explore

Blue Sea Whales
Deep shadow forcing rippled surface wake;
defying gravity great blow ships sail,
leaping open water turn sideways break,
splash monolithic lunging blue sea whales.
Whales song ping chords oceanic serenade,
mates hear shrill bare raspy choral rounds,
notes long loud song orchestral thoughts pervade,
clasp hearts fins dart strumming tonal sounds
receding home exposing lone willfulness;
behemoth strength, unnerving length, fanning tail
inspiring dreams, mammoth scenes peacefulness,
retiring sun, peripheral moonlit ...

Sámi av fjellene og havet
(the Sami of the mountains and the sea)
An invisible drone of the Goddess
Of the lights in northern skies at twilight,
Sends swiftly down its single chasing eye,
Racing thru’ the reindeer herds by starlight.
It manages to find them, to choke through
To the arid coastline, to the sea folk
Luring the juvenile who frantic ply
Their skill, haphazard, for the plankton fry.
Who give out with song of the prey’s malaise,
And await, at the ready, the blessing.
Blow the bone whistle — the...

A vast ocean I can't understand
I see a ocean as gentle as a yellow buttercup
I see a cascade of water holding flames beneath
The brick wall hides the reality, the reality of this world
I know that fishes breathe in a land of unpredictable thunder
Dolphins carry on dancing in bubbles of blue like a playful child
Being pretty within a ocean that doesn't offer angels to protect
Fragile and under threat where real rainbows should reside
A peach bubble does not protect them from negative daggers
A ocean like this may be joyful like a painting to observe
And yes the ocean...

Alfred out fishing
Alfred out fishing
Alfred the pianist, who insists he is not my father,
And I went out fishing, we caught a few and when I gutted one of them
We discovered a ring which Alfred said he had given to my mother Olga in Ankara
before the war. It was an expensive ring –
Gold was cheap back then- and it fitted his middle finger.
We didn`t feel like eating fish after that, and I gave them to an elderly seal
resting on a sandbank, it lived on what other seals gave it.
When my father Alfred was very old he gave me a ring I to give Olga

is it Ebson salt
Is it Epson Salt?
All those nice villas along the coast are empty save for stray cats
and those too poor to live inland because the sea stinks like
bouillabaisse gone off. Marine life and sea plants have died out too much
acidity caused by industry, and now it is too late to clean up the mess.
Fish in tanks are guarded and so expensive only the very rich can afford it,
say, bacalao; we have to eat fishcakes consisting of ninety-eight percent
mashed potatoes, the rest is cod skin. Cod liver oil is the cure-all medicine,
it’s too expensive,...

old man swims
Old man swims
The old man had been persuaded to go to the beach
and since it was late September and tourists had gone home
He reluctantly agreed. He waded out waist deep and
then swam out to the bottomless part; suddenly the sea
had goose pimples which he took as a warning and swam
back to shore as fast as he could, this is not very fast for
an eighty years old man. As he reached the shore, he sensed
someone was trying to bite him, a tear in his swimsuit,
told his wife he had been attacked by a shark, she said the rip
had been there...

When...
When time was young and fish were wise
a little boy would guard the boats
that his people used for gathering food
while their gods watched above from skies
that laid closer to the water & earth,
for this was where the wind came to rest
and the sea caressed the edge of the world,
and blessed those who trusted in the rhythm
of life until the cycle of death would
come and set them free, to watch over
a little boy who guarded the boats
when time was young and fish were wise.
