Preferring The Horn
The pauper porpoise poet
Was a very poor porpoise indeed
As she spent all of her lobster money
On copious ammounts of mead
She read her poems at open mics
But her words were all at sea
Apart from one fine night, she got it right
And flipped her flippers with glee!
Some thought she was a dolphin
Which would really piss her off
And one even called her "Flipper"
She told him to foff!
Yet she found him quite attractive
He was a swordfish, well endowed
And when she saw how 'sharp' he was
Their marriage was avowed ...

Russian Doll Spy Whales
The Russians originally
Had heard of spy whales
From one of their agents/spies
Based in North Wales, UK
And due to a simple typo
And general misunderstanding
The KGB, assumed that the British Government
Were training Welsh people to become spies
The British Government got wind of this
And deliberately gave their spy whales names
Such as Evan, Hugh, and Taff
Thus further confusing the KGB
But the error was later realised
Thence the Russians began building robotic whales
But they kept going rusty
Next they tried genetic...

With the flow - NaPoWriMo 14
I do not know what drives me,
I am but a fish
carried by the current
Towards the inevitable waterfall and end
of which no fish knows of the beyond.
Yet despite the torrent around me,
all to often
I appear to be stuck and slow
the lack of progress only punctuated by time
as each moment drops away,
So I am but a fish
in a stream
somewhat awkwardly flailing
in the temporary stream.

In A Pickle
I do love you
Rollmop Herring
As you lay within a tub
With thin slices of pickled pepper
Perhaps picked by Peter Piper?
And he is particularly fastidious
About which pickled pepper
That he picks
Apart from one time
When he was pickled himself
And no-one was sure if
Peter Piper
Was more pickled
Than the pickled pepper
That Peter Piper picked
And apparently
He was wearing a wig
That looked remarkably
Like a rollmop herring!

Burning Rubber!
I have used
Hot water bottles
For as long as
I can remember
But grateful
That i didn't develop
A fetish
For warm rubber!
It would only
Of confused things
Especially
As i often use two at a time
A kind of menage a trois
Of rubber
Blisters
And painful confusion
A curious marriage
Must be the Sturgeon Moon
A poor persons caviar
Something fishy.....

My Poems Stream
My poems,
are an endless
river stream.
There will always
be another one,
endlessly flowing.
It is the river,
and yet it
is also the
fish within.
Jumping out
so excitedly,
like such
beautiful fishies.
an endless
stream
of
poems...

river stream.

The Relevant Elephant
A poor thought
Aforethought
So i ought
But got caught
On that thought
So cheaply sought
I then bought
Or thought
I caught
A fish!
Which i laid upon
A dish
And made a wish
For a kish
(Well i was a bit pished!)
So i ate
A potato
In a jacket
(I made no racket)
Not surprised
As it was
So bloody cold!

The Mersirens
A giant goldfish bowl
Splashed into the ocean
The life inside
Swam around
As mercurial bubbles
Rose to the surface
As the fish mouths
Seemed to speak....
From my observations
They kept repeating
Just one word
Bub bub bub
Unknown to me
Every bub
Had possible multiple meanings
And it became to late
Before i realised
That they weren't fish
But an alien invasion force
From a distant water world
Within seconds
Or was it days?
A large bubble
Not disimilar

From Tentacles, to Pentacles
I'm as tired
As an Octopus
With nine tentative tentacles
But delighted tonight
As i was drawn
To the Queen

the dolphin.
The Dolphin
He sat on the terrace thinking of his four children
their mother was a dolphin who lived in a pool behind the houses.
She begged me to set her free, I did and saw her swim away
jumping of joy
Her children were obese full of blubber, and had small arms and feet.
When we went on my boat fishing, they, when catching fish
ate them raw.
When old enough, my children joined their mother had settled
near the Azores, where the sea was mild.
I was on a ship passing the island when they swam alongside and waved.
The transformation was...
