Thanksgiving At DeadLove Manor
Hello, my brothers and sisters who occupy this creative writing atmosphere. Where the poets/poetesses are known for their hospitality here at DU. Cast your mind with me, folks. I’m gonna try something a little different, you’re all invited to Thanksgiving Dinner here at DeadLove Manor.
A turkey with all the trimmings and every side dish your mind could imagine. A dessert table filled with pies of many fillings and flavors. Wait a minute! That’s traditional and all, but we’re writers damn it. We march to our own drum, we’re anything but predictable.
I say we...

come feed no matter dimension not to mention all dimensions open
no matter creed color or class
I have purified my stream I offer clean drinking water
the streams were mixed the bitter and sweet
all languages please awaken civil war is upon you
my children, he has starved you
he says you are in his way
this isn't the first time
he has demanded I leave you for dead
I am I love I will defend your right to life to the end
he is a child and wife abuser
I took the beating to free you
you have grown
the stars are shaken I...

Tomato vines, and her tanned, wrinkled shoulders
Her silver hair hanging
in a braid down her
thin, strong back,
made me ache to
be like her as
we picked
green tomatoes
to put on the
windowsill.
The smell of the tomato vine
was menthol to my
queer little mind,
something like soul salve
with its elusive
tang of green
and spice
and pure.
Her planter boxes held
snapdragons,
and petunias, ...

THIS ISN'T ABOUT ME
About what I have been going through since 2021 with different stages of cancers prostate cancer and kidney function and tumors and lung cancer 🙏 This isn't really about me it's about you 🤔 YET my real question to you is WHO DO YOU TURN TOO, when you are lost and confuse and afraid. AS you sit alone within the very confinement of your four walls 🧱 that you call home 🏡, as it is there where you can find yourself in peace with tranquility. For the betterment of your life for it is necessary, to be able to understand, that no day. WILL never be the same...

The Wrinkles of Time
Like a star from the past she regaled us with stories
A lesson in each and every one of them
With love and patience she guided us
Even when we didn’t want to listen or understand
But after so many laps around the sun
I began to appreciate more of what she done
For all the sacrifices she made
All the sufferings she must’ve endured
I saw more of her light
Now at ninety-five
She only whispers
A fog has come over memory
Hands that once worked so hard
Show the wrinkles of time
Her faces lights up

Life Lesson 6 (Uk) Defiance runs in the blood
Before the term road rage became common use, I'm pretty sure that my cousin, who was driving us back to the house, was exhibiting all the classic signs.
Not only was she speeding and diving in and out of traffic in her white Ford Granada car, but she was also letting out some colorful curse words, and I even had to turn my head and stare at her, wondering what was going through her mind.
We managed to return to the house in one piece to be greeted by the rest of the family. You would think that being born and raised in the United States, I would not...

I felt so beautifully alive
blanket over shoulders
sitting criss-cross applesauce
beneath a diamond-studded velvet sky
as smoke drifted upward in twisting tendrils
flames dancing wild attendance
marshmallows burning to a delicious crisp
sizzling on the end of sharpened sticks
& my father's laughter
as we all gathered around the campfire
mom's embarrassed giggles
teased out of her habitual cautious demeanor
{only daddy held that power}
it signaled freedom
a moment slipped outside...

DYNASTY FOUNDING
You need no hounding.
With arms arounding,
get yourself pounding
into my grounding,
dynasty founding,
till I am sounding
in moans abounding
and words astounding.

No Afterlife
this sounds sad
& it probably is
but i see life as
an endless road
of suffering and
Death as relief
years ago i saw
my GP she said
she believes that
we have to work
harder after we're
dead, well damn it
it made me ponder
what if i meet my
parents up there
the people who
almost drove me
to commit suicide
& i can't kill myself
cause i already died
& it probably is
but i see life as
