Brothers In Bond
entertaining the powers that be
they come to me to see what I'm made of
groaning from growing pains in the immortal sense
they won't pass me if I'm not up to snuff
exposing me to all kinds of trials
my witchiness must be sharp
a warrioress of the way
mock wars to ready one for the eventual
the man Himself says it's coming
preparing me he says it must be instinct like drawing a breath
no questions in the moment, respond
a weapon sure and deadly his people ready
we will take our opponent down
He has not revealed...

I GOT KIDS TO FEED
Ooh that chronograph would look good on my wrist
Though I like it, it’s really a want and not a need
I know I could walk around the office and flaunt it
I have the money for it but dang it I got kids to feed!
I’ve been a hankering to go on a long vacation
Go to Pamplona and run with the bulls in the stampede
But I’m getting a little too old for these shenanigans
I’ve been dreaming of skydiving but I got kids to feed!
Though I’m in a good place as far as income is concerned
There was a point when my family had some tough times
I had...

Deep & Wide
My father always told me
I lived life a mile wide
And an inch deep
I was never certain if I agreed
Because although I have traveled
Far and continuously
I believe somewhere inside of me
Unhinged
And I can’t decide if
Seeing too much
Is a privilege or a hindrance
But I do know how deeply
I feel about a wide range of places
It’s hard to look at a parent
And see a stranger
So maybe I take their words
With too much weight
Questioning my own character
So maybe I can relate
But...

Laughs and Smiles
Sometimes the days feel like they’re dragging
And yet when I look in the mirror the years have passed fast
I may not reach the peak of a mountain to fight a dragon
But I know that after I’m gone my verses are going to last
I may not be popular or reach fame in my time
But the rhymes I leave behind can serve a testament
I’m just a simple man striving to find what’s mine
So that my children will one day share in the sentiment
I’m motivated by their laughs and smiles in their faces
Like photographs of these moments engraved in our hearts ...

I am
I’m sorry for being
I didn’t chose it either
I’m bound to your wife
Not because I want to be here
I’m sorry if you see me as
Disrespectful and lazy
And that we both know the fact
That time won’t change me
I’m sorry how I am
But does that justify
The way you’re screaming at my head
Every time I missed a right?
The accusations that you make
Behind my back
Behind charades
I guess it’s hard
To be that way
I know your life’s not easy
Neither is mine
And every time that you don’t talk
You don’t...

A Cicada's Song
Cicada summer nights, sing me your tune
Backyard tents with friends in the mid of June
Christmas lights wrapped around the walnut trees
Amidst Missouri heat, sweat without breeze
Why did we all need to grow up so soon?
Roasting marshmallows with Mom 'till they bloom
Close laughter together, touching the moon
When hours felt like hours, nothing more to seize
Cicada summer nights
Fire's embers, dancing canvas shadows loom
Fading to dreams beside Dad's guitar tune
Looking back, good times can be such a tease
Early days come...

Grandmother's Mood
When she was young she known to have a temper
She may have been little but she sure stood strong
But as she got older she became a different person
Her faith gave made her more stoic, pensive and calm
Grandma only gave a few hints about her past life
She had a rough childhood, she suffered and fought
But when she found her faith she had a connection
To put it simply, let’s just say the woman prayed a lot
It wasn’t until we were older when we got a glimpse
A couple of us kids and grandkids had really pissed her off
I had never seen...

Friction Fractal
altering according to need and necessity
seething on the gag with one small admission
my mouth is vicious
please God guard my mind, my tongue
biting down on the restraint
until it builds and all the birds of the air gather
with expletives flying I release the tension
where it comes from I don't know
the men are in the war room
guard your minds brothers were maneuvering
bring the houses together and unify
assaulting schisms tangy with pressure
jilting midnight's pleasure
I prolong the moment of...

Thick Sweet Brains
My sister & I are chained to a steel bedpost
Every few hours my mother comes in and beats me with a fire poker
She then sends one of her boyfriends to kiss my sister and hit her with his belt
They've often told my sister & I that they love us
Once we get out of here, we'll get our revenge
I'll wait until there sleeping
I'll use that same poker and beat their brains in until there unconscious
Nothing smells like human brains
A thick, sweet smell
It will drive you insane

First experience at Six Flags Great Adventure
In July this will mark the 40th anniversary of my 1st time at Six Flags Great Adventure in Jackson New Jersey.
Prior to Great Adventure, I had some experience with Amusement Parks. My parents and grandparents have taken me to Adventureland in Farmingdale Long Island since 1980. My first roller coaster experience was there in 1982. Accompanied by my father, I rode a coaster called the Galaxy. A simplistic, figure 8 coaster that hit speeds of 30 mph. At that time, I thought it was the greatest thing on Earth!
In 1983 my parents took my brother & I to Disney World. That...

Chocolate Bunnies
To me Easter is very similar to Thanksgiving. Lots of amazing food, desserts and family who I enjoy to be around. I am NOT a religious person at all. My immediate family aren't either. Just like Xmas, there is no true celebration in the deep meaning of what these holidays are about. It's more of a food orgy and welcoming family I don't see to often.
When I was a little kid, the house was decorated with plastic eggs, Easter bunnies, ornate, colorful, flowery decor's (purples, light greens, pink) for spring and other nick-knacks. My mother would try & encourage my...

If at first you don't succeed, hide in the garden shed
A man from America convinced himself that he was dying of a transmissible disease and that he had already infected his wife & children. To spare himself and his family this terrible fate, he decided they should all die.
In the middle of his homemade crime spree, he called the police to notify them of the murder suicide in progress. He murdered each family member with a fatal gunshot to the head.
While waiting for the cops to arrive, he stabbed himself repeatedly, but found that he wasn't dying quickly enough. He then decided to hit himself over the head with a...
