The In-between
We share alikeness; you and I,
we can play well together.
Sit and calm yourself, do try;
I have deemed us birds of a feather.
Do not get yourself in a tizzy;
oblivion is not all bad.
Please sit down; you are making me dizzy.
Shed no tears, no reason to be sad,
for we sit at the center of it all.
Hold your head high with pride.
The contrasting ends give us a call
and we get to play both sides.
we can play well together.
Sit and calm yourself, do try;
I have deemed us birds of a feather.
Do not get yourself in a tizzy;
oblivion is not all bad.
Please sit down; you are making me dizzy.
Shed no tears, no reason to be sad,
for we sit at the center of it all.
Hold your head high with pride.
The contrasting ends give us a call
and we get to play both sides.

Our Voice Is A Vacuum
The restless nightmares
On this ship of fools
Sailing aimlessly on the ocean
Of bigotry and ignorance
Don’t want to be here
Faceless culprits
Promoting hatred of difference
To a disgusting degree
Trapped within the label given
Chained to the name
Of the doctor who helped classify us
For nazi extermination
Stand back look past the ribbon
The colourful fluttering distracts
Conform misfits or be cast out
This is the only acceptance
Our voice is a vacuum
Held under...

Equality
She has my heart in
Holy water for it's an
Enigma it will clean me
Bound to the theories
Accepting what happens
Now we live to
Get going or die trying
So live life in moment
Make sure to Love not Hate
Equality should be now
Never judge people
Obscure the may be
World is watching us
Holy water for it's an
Enigma it will clean me
Bound to the theories
Accepting what happens

Boo
There are more than a few of you trying to blame my Boo
You think that we're no longer one because of my Boo
What you don't realize is that some of the poetry is true
That it was I Is Me that wouldn't allow Mentality to come through
She fucking loved me hard giving all of herself
A young ass fucking flame burning down til there was nothing left
She knows that after a million fucking years, and a million fucking tears
Although her love for me is true, she really couldn't stay right here
But still my Boo showed patience that went beyond the...

Beloved Partner of the Path
You may not care much for me;
yet I walk with you nonetheless
realizing the illusion
of our differences—
You may highlight faults
of my past, and that's okay—
mistakes are growth catalysts
We are not the same people
we were an hour ago. . .
if we've learned anything;
therefore, be gentle
with yourself, and others
despite the road they walk—
we're all merely stardust and ash
experiencing our way back home
~

On Daisy the dog, whose life was saved by her cuteness
Our Daisy is a “special” dog
with such peculiar fears,
we wonder what is going on
between those soft, warm ears.
We got her from a shelter;
she was born completely deaf --
so twice within her first three months
she was abandoned, left.
A communication “expert”,
eagerly the task I met:
to train a dog who couldn’t hear
to be our family pet.
Through positive conditioning,
hand signals, flashing lights,
she mastered all the basics,
aced the class - oh what delight!
But deep within her heart ...

A Penlight
Cancel out the darkness
learning to read
what might be remembered
with a penlight
silencing the echoes
with a magic marker
until you get your sight back
from exploring the unknown
walking alone
with a penlight
listening to your awareness
learning to read

silencing the echoes

I embrace the dawn
a new day that awakes
pushing me forward
with fresh possibilities
there are beginnings
with chances to repair
the cuts of yesterday’s story
where eager hearts made mistakes
I will walk on
with hope on my sole
each dawn knitting new stories
new beginning with treasures to find
a new day that awakes
pushing me forward
with fresh possibilities
there are beginnings
with chances to repair
the cuts of yesterday’s story

all in the moment
all the insufficient
yesterday's
the slights
the pain
the wounds
let it all be
let the sleeping
dog of the past
lie still
the past happened
it will always have happened
and it will never not have happened
no genies magic
lamp can change
that fact
the past is unalterable
like the chance of finding
one rotten apple in a
beautiful orchard
instead
focus on this single
moment
you ...

On watching animated films on a strange and silent afternoon
I am looking at Pinocchio fold
into piles of pine. Watching
the joints slide backwards
until the lie takes over
and gravity becomes a cold bed
in which to lay the bones down.
I think of my own body
splintering in what can’t be seen.
How this day comes and there
is nothing, but a dark whale
and the tenacity to escape.
Did anybody tell him
years later, in his trauma,
that it is better to be made of wood
than to eternally be made of stone.

He Doesn't Want GPS
He doesn't want GPS
Feels he can navigate fine on his own
Even though he frequently misses turns
and doesn't remember to use Maps on his phone
when driving somewhere new
Lack of intelligence isn't the problem
He's well educated
Well spoken
Respectable trajectory
in his professional career
He doesn't want GPS
even though late one night
on his drive from Tucson back to Phoenix
near to when he should have been home
he found he'd gone in the wrong direction

there's no ghosts here
I hang up washing inside
out of the reaching fingers of rain
that would have us clothesless
for a few more days
He won't come near this room
can barely step inside
without his insides breaking
into emotions you can't lock in a box
I can still see her last breaths here
if I remember to look backwards through time
a nurse of one side of her bed
me holding her hand telling her
it's going to be okay
though she wasn't lucid enough
to know I was lying
I wasn't there for her last breath
maybe I'd...
