A splendid work, Gypsy, and an excellently put philosophical point of order as well! Indeed, we are... all of us... the receptacles for all that our ancestors were and all that they can, through our present deeds, become. Each person who lives, is living history... each life is a story and a tale... and each heart bears within it the poetry of its' destiny, even if it be a destiny of one's own making or one imposed by some divinity mayhaps. No two fates are the same; no two lives are identical, yet we all rise from the depths... if only for a moment... and sometimes we can seize that moment and create a positive change in the world. These are the musings this poem brings to my mind, and they are welcome musings indeed! Well written poetry, Gypsy, as ever. :)

Lovely piece.  And nice play off of Maya's Still I Rise (http://www.poemhunter.com/poem/still-i-rise/)  I could hear and feel her influence in the piece and it made me appreciate it all the more.
