Invisible Chains
Darkness descends over memories in my mind
the alcohol fueled scars I’ve caused
Yearning to be free
loneliness you are my only shelter
screams of pain and desperation
echoing inside a hollow soul
alone and bound by the chains of my past
unable to find peace from the shadow you have cast over me
I sit in the dark and tremble
praying that the sun will find its way through
