I more than miss you
How many tears can one cry?
I've never asked myself this question.
Until now
Until I cried more times than the fingers on my hands and the toes on my feet in the past couple days
And my fingers became damp from the rain falling from my eyes
Until you left and I wondered if I would drown in the tears and the pain
Where did the joy go?
It left with you and your curly hair and your grey sweatshirt
your brown forgiving eyes, and loving smile.
And what did you leave me with?
Nothing. Except my love for you, unanswered questions, your shirt that you gave me when mine had gotten dirty, your jacket from the time when it started to rain that you told me to keep, your knife to protect me when you couldn't, and your belt from when we got frisky and so wrapped up in each other that you forgot it at my house.
It was only one month I spent with you,
but it was the happiest I have ever been
And now it's gone, your gone, and so is my joy
And now come the tears
Will they ever stop falling?
Only when you come home.
I've never asked myself this question.
Until now
Until I cried more times than the fingers on my hands and the toes on my feet in the past couple days
And my fingers became damp from the rain falling from my eyes
Until you left and I wondered if I would drown in the tears and the pain
Where did the joy go?
