Fire Dance

walkin pon coals
Soul-skitterin`
across embers emotional
slightest hesitation
inflicts interior acrimony
a common side-effect
of contact direct
with Planet Lonely

never-tiring
elusive rotation
prevents
weight bearing foundation
from exposure
to anything more
than slightest
feet licking enflamation

gotta keep on moving
yet forced sometimes
to embrace pallid
social penetrations
no matter how in-valid
in hopes they grant
a ration of stamina
easing screaming soles
with kool-aid shoals
free donuts and coffee
on the sales-room floor

this relief
if accepted
must be conciously registered
as deceptive
bordering on devil-dealing
wading in River Styx
swept-awaying in under-tow
of all it conceals

respite must be brief
else transformation
into just another
Earth thief
once perspiration
is completely dry
Jump robustly
back pon fire
some callous has formed
aiding disciplined denial
of momentary pain
most tactile
when feet touch upon
searing flame

all by decision
this trance-like
fire-dance
a marathon squared
should I go the distance
meanwhile
the moment is mine
every discomfort
multiplies time
