That Old Chevy
i remember growin up
standing next to grandpa
on that bench seat
the cooler didnt work
so with that summer heat
we'd roll the windows down
as we'd drive around
oh
that old chevy
orange and white
sure knew about a country night
yeah its old and worn
banged and torn
been through 4 generations of family
it watched all the kids grow like weeds
seen grown folk do some stupid things
i'm sure when it was new
everyone thought it was cool
but i got a little piece of history
every time i turn that key
and it takes me back to the simpler days
and the way
things use to be
we'll keep on rockin
that old chevy and me
we use to fish out at the lake
and grandpa would drop that tailgate
as our little feet would dangle
we'd wait
for a bite
and i'd watch grandma and him dancing in the head lights
to some country song
all us kids would laugh
as we tried to sing along
oh
that old chevy
orange and white
sure knew about a country night
yeah its old and worn
banged and torn
been through 4 generations of family
it watched all the kids grow like weeds
seen grown folk do some stupid things
i'm sure when it was new
everyone thought it was cool
but i got a little piece of history
every time i turn that key
and it takes me back to the simpler days
and the way
things use to be
we'll keep on rockin
that old chevy and me
now a days it takes a miracle to get her to run
yeah she needs a lot of work
but as long as i'm on this earth
i wont ever give her up
man i love that old truck
that old chevy
orange and white
sure knew about a country night
yeah its old and worn
banged and torn
been through 4 generations of family
it watched all the kids grow like weeds
seen grown folk do some stupid things
i'm sure when it was new
