Going Dark

Come in, I didn't hear the knock at the door
You've caught me at an awkward moment
Quickly shut the door behind you!
You're about to let all of the darkness out.
I'll wait while your eyes adjust to it
It's imperative that we disturb it no more
I know the air is a bit thick and humid
Your lungs will acclimate to it very soon.
No! Don't say a word, let it know you first
I know that you feel its subtle embrace tighten
It's curious to know what my visitor's are
Soon enough you will feel its grip lighten.
There now, even I can hear your heart relax
The rapid thumping has become a soft beat
This mean's that the darkness really like's you
In a while I won't be able to tell you apart.
Anyway, it was so nice of you to come by
I'm betting that you hadn't planned on staying
Where oh where did that form you appeared in go?
I know the dark took it; I was just playing.
