The End
1.
The sky is a
soft confusion
of greens and
yellows in the
calm speechless
air, like a sudden
presence come upon
unexpectedly, like
staring out at some-
thing which is being
lost, never again to be.
2.
There is the impression
of music exact, soft,
almost like the end of
the world. Birds unseen
are fluting in the trees,
the sun is still shining,
like before. The distances
of the sea are vague, even
palely blue.
