Somebody Save Me
Sitting in the corner, on a mattress on the floor, with
Only a silhouette of a bluebird on the wall as company,
Minutes, days, months creep by with
Every distant quarterly chime; an agonizing reminder
By an apathetic timepiece that a past did exist
Outside this purgatory, only to emerge
During fleeting moments of lucidness between doses
Yet to be administered.
Somewhere in the nebulous recesses of my mind,
Amidst the foggy synaptic cleft between neurons,
Vying for my attention, dreams and memories struggle to
Emerge; grappling with this pharmaceutical daze.
May the grace of somebody please hear my silent cries and
Extract me from this relentless phase.
Only a silhouette of a bluebird on the wall as company,
Minutes, days, months creep by with
Every distant quarterly chime; an agonizing reminder
By an apathetic timepiece that a past did exist
Outside this purgatory, only to emerge
During fleeting moments of lucidness between doses
Yet to be administered.
Somewhere in the nebulous recesses of my mind,
Amidst the foggy synaptic cleft between neurons,
Vying for my attention, dreams and memories struggle to
Emerge; grappling with this pharmaceutical daze.
May the grace of somebody please hear my silent cries and
Extract me from this relentless phase.
