Beyond the View
Issues of life clothe us
they are only removed
when we are naked
exposed
touching each other's souls
eye to eye
skin to skin
no complicated fabric in between
Confusion lays crumpled on the floor
stripped with eager hands
making way for fingertips
to shoot bolts of clarity
into the seams of the mind
breath to breath
skin to skin
no deflectors in between
Letting go the fears
that dance through the mind
releasing echoes of giddy
joy tickles the lips
till you are smiling stars
reflecting brightness
into the island of iris
with its surrounding blue waters
The twinkle is lost
the minute you dress
issues clothe again
in rigid striped jail bars
I am but a visitor
hours restricted
alarms sounding for you to return
to your self-inflicted prison

I appreciate your reply. I was thinking of how much of the world sees life as a game; with money, vocation, possessions defining who we are. A twisted view that sadly most adhere to. I love getting to know the person beyond the clutter of the view and things. Thank you.

the great stumbling block in today's society is having the COURAGE to remove lifes clothes and bare our true selves to others. this great philosophical work reflects this. nice piece.
