Maggie May
My daughter, Margaret "Maggie" May's birthday is tomorrow. She "felt" the music early on as you see. I am proud of her accomplishments in life. I am MOST proud of her compassionate giving.
The smallest moments pass on by
if we look ahead its history
Can the pot say to the potter
why did you create me this way
Can the sun say to the earth
should I shine again today
You've trekked the world to freely give
offering hands and smiles to those in need
you laugh and remind me you're older now
yes, and you're still my little girl
Dreams to dream, plans to make
love to give, love to take
barbie dolls and tonka toys
scraped up knees and pesky boys
misty eyes, silent prayers
promises made, secrets shared
All the things that matter most
are freely given

:) She will be 30, bro. Served in the Peace Corps after college and while she has made her life in this world, is still my lil bohemian girl. Thanks.

"143".. I'm betting she knows it too, lucky girl. Wonderful tribute to your daughter and the pic of the cutie at the piano tops this piece perfectly. She'll always be your baby no matter how old she gets!

Thank you. That old upright was her fave toy. She would sit and touch the keys endlessly.

Ah Ken,
I have been meaning to drop by and read this. I am so glad I finally did. A tender piece from start to finish.
I especially like your opening two lines and your closing two lines.
Thank you so much for sharing.

Thank you Rachel. It is a bit of a struggle to capture her as she is when I do see the adult she is yet my heart still sees the little girl. Very sweet of you!
