I only knew you for twelve days
twelve days is all it took to make you a priority
to wait and see you pop up in my inbox
to have deep meaningful, emotional, conversations
to tell you things I didn't know I could share
to never meet you, but to call you a dear friend
to know things about you and trust each other
we were internet friends, the most simple yet complex of friends
Deciding if you were real or fake just my the things we typed to one another
Simple because I could tell you things without being judged
making you laugh and imagining your giggles
thinking about your day and whether or not you thought of me
just at the beginning of our promising, friendship
and to feel better and more understanding about myself
then one day as I'm trying to fall asleep I receive a message that your dead
you were in a car accident and didn't make it
leaving your ten month old daughter fatherless
leaving your girlfriend, family, and friends
I am still in shock
