Requiem for Julius Caesar
Friends, Romans, Countrymen
Lend me your ears
Hear me speak
And reduce your fears
Listen to the Caesar
That spledid Geezer
With their rousing speech.
Or will you skulk about
like a snake
an envious senate
deaf to the pure shout
and bitter in your deeds.
Here stands the immortal god
Here stabs the immoral good?
Here slides the mortal blood
Oh, vain speaker
with your reputation
the glory seeker
cast so low
by those close to you.
Friends, Romans, Countrymen
Lend me your ears
your minds, your hearts
Shed no more tears
Caesar! Caesar! Caesar!
Where art thou Geezer?
With their rousing speech?
Lend me your ears
Hear me speak
And reduce your fears
Listen to the Caesar
That spledid Geezer
With their rousing speech.
Or will you skulk about
like a snake
an envious senate
deaf to the pure shout
and bitter in your deeds.
Here stands the immortal god
Here stabs the immoral good?
Here slides the mortal blood
Oh, vain speaker
with your reputation
the glory seeker
cast so low
by those close to you.
Friends, Romans, Countrymen
Lend me your ears
your minds, your hearts
Shed no more tears
Caesar! Caesar! Caesar!
Where art thou Geezer?
With their rousing speech?
