dumpster-diving; uninspiring.

your smile conjures cliche words
sweet, and honey-soaked
like a pot of coffee, yet untouched
or a cigarette half-smoked.

cobwebs on my pen and pad,
eyes dry now for some time
I dumpster-dive for something more
than imagery and rhyme.

contentment's somewhat uninspiring,
a sky devoid of gray,
no water falling to the earth,
the dirt now, dry as hay.
