Is it Time to say Goodbye

within me where memories dwell
I made a promise I vowed to uphold
to never leave you and dispel
the poems you wrote stories you told

yet the clock ticks clear shadows gather
louder and louder my protest they drown
impending silence fills my heart with fear
this refuge a sanctuary shall soon be gone

the lights will twinkle out the curtains drawn
we will wander out from  its empty stillness
the door will close on deep underground
we will shield our tears from alien brightness

your poems will be like starlight in the night
the essence of dreams once unfurled
wandering homeless just flickering light
to fade into pinpricks of glow blurred

sweet whispers of you will vanish
just like passing mists in the mountains
though I will gather those I cherish
every stanza every words testaments

I promised once — a vow I won’t forget
your words will endure, forevermore
be it here in my heart
or in another site, yet unknown

Author's Note
I was thinking about poems I want to keep especially from poets I follow. I don't know whether I can copy all of them down. I especially want to keep Soul's poems, but it seems I won't be able to download all especially as I have more than a thousand poems here, myself. Nothing one can do of course except do one's best.
