I Spent the Day Thinking About You
The universe
In all her infinite wisdom
Reminds me not to stray
A beaten path has it’s purpose
I’m of a different cloth
Stitched together by my own hand
A patchwork of pain
Love, longing, togetherness
Your magnetic pull almost capsized me
And to think I spent the day thinking about you
I dared to imagine waking up next to you
I swore I heard the man in the moon laugh
I walk the earth alone
My feet battle worn and scarred
Their resting place will be the darkness that follows
After the last bell has been rung
The last song has been sung
The last tear has fallen
When silence blankets the globe
My soul will finally have peace
And to think
I spent the day thinking about you
In all her infinite wisdom
Reminds me not to stray
A beaten path has it’s purpose
I’m of a different cloth
Stitched together by my own hand
A patchwork of pain
Love, longing, togetherness
Your magnetic pull almost capsized me
And to think I spent the day thinking about you
I dared to imagine waking up next to you
I swore I heard the man in the moon laugh
I walk the earth alone
My feet battle worn and scarred
Their resting place will be the darkness that follows
After the last bell has been rung
The last song has been sung
The last tear has fallen
When silence blankets the globe
My soul will finally have peace
And to think
I spent the day thinking about you
