One questions the loss of love and rarely are there any good answers.  But I believe in love and think it's always worth pursuing until your final days...

I dont dwell on past ....so had been looking for love...but never found it...

The visual, the bleakness of winter, is as forlorn as the verse itself. I've always found it interesting that cardinals remain in the dead of winter as companions for the bluebird. I guess that's one reason they represent departed loved ones, they are faithful through cold and warmth. As are bluebirds of happiness, albeit they are more elusive - we have to work for them.
