The Punisher
He carries scars where his heart weeps
Keeper of secrets and lies
He justifies the destruction of his dreams
Believing his decisions ended his tomorrows
Pain creased on his brow
Chasing stillness, needing a quiet sigh
While life quietly passes by
His storms raging beneath the surface never end
Living life as if he desires the end
The gate to his soul kept tightly closed
Thinking nobody else knows
But I do
Because I lived like you

Written for neighbor dude, the guy who denies everything.
Best friends pass away, but they watch us, guide us and wait for us.
I hope 2025 is a better year for you and becomes the year you realize that living a life of denial and lies not only destroys the people left in your life, it destroys your soul. I know, because I lived like you.

Sorry Sam. I added the lover hashtag. It wasn’t directed at you.
And no, I’m not a punisher, I’m a healer ;)

I believe humans are inherently flawed, as a species. We just don’t talk about what we think are our shortcomings too often. If we did, we’d find that we have more in common than we think. We’d also put an end to needless suffering.

Yes, it does.
He can’t comment. I didn’t expect him to - emotionally unavailable. But I know why.

This epitomizes "It takes one to know one". Patterns aren't difficult to recognize when we've woven them ourselves, are they?

Definitely not.
I’m grateful to not be in that place anymore. I’m also grateful to know I don’t feel obligated to stay with this one. Life’s all about choices.

That was deep. I loved the rhythm and the flow of this. I can really relate.

This is cathartic for sure. You really do seem to understand traits in people & recognise certain patterns of potentially destructive behaviour. But with it, comes your almost soothing reasurrance that you are able to relate & therefore reach out. 😊

To see one in their pain & recognize self is a strange gift. Not being alone with pain is the act of empathy. Just to sit with them & say I'm here
