Unrecognisable

There is an image in my mirror looking back at me,

I don't recognise these features in this stranger that I see,

the eyes are no longer windows that show into the soul,

instead they look back lifeless as dull and dark as coal,

gone is the mouth that held a smile or opened wide to sing,

instead there sits a chapped cracked  line  to scared to say a thing,

no longer is there laughter lines that decorate the eyes,

replaced by puffy pillows from all the rivers that she cries,

where is the skin that shone so bright with a happy healthy  glow

instead stares back a pale drained  face tired of putting on a show,

There is an image in my mirror that one day will not be there,

sad and full of loneliness with a soul that's been stripped bare

that image in the mirror has turned its back on me

walking into nothingness  longing to be free,

now there is no image in the mirror to behold

instead there is an emptiness that's sad and dark and cold.

Author's Note
Anything I write is like...my diary, a release as its impossible too speak to a person face to face and explain my mind,  don't you find when asked how you feel its like some hits the stop button and you forget how to speak?  it is also a way of reaching out to those who feel what I write, an invisible message to say, I hear you, I see you, you are not alone <3
