Beware
Let me give it
To you straight
If you wish
to speak to me
As soon as I awake
You'll have to wait
For Heaven's sake
No one, not even
My precious pup
Will interact with me
Until I drink
My first cup of coffee
So, if you don't wish
To hear me moan
And let out a groan
You'd be wise
To hang up
That darn cell phone
And leave my
Cranky self alone
To you straight
If you wish
to speak to me
As soon as I awake
You'll have to wait
For Heaven's sake
No one, not even
My precious pup
Will interact with me
Until I drink
My first cup of coffee
So, if you don't wish
To hear me moan
And let out a groan
You'd be wise
To hang up
That darn cell phone
And leave my
Cranky self alone

I'm soooo cranky before coffee. I loved this!
I get up early, it doesn't mean I want to talk to anybody, lol

I had to brew an extra cup of joe this morning. Just for the sake of safety. Ninja said, Whew, He's out of the danger zone and it feels good.

I see this poem humorously captures the universal morning ritual of needing that first cup of coffee to kickstart the day. The speaker sets clear boundaries, emphasizing that nothing—not even their beloved pet—should disturb them until they've had their caffeine fix. The playful tone, with phrases like "For Heaven's sake" and "That darn cell phone," adds charm to the poem's message. It's relatable and light-hearted, offering a chuckle to anyone who understands the struggle of facing the world before coffee.
