A Passed Age

Seems like an age has passed
Slow days and faster decades
And though it's not really surprising
I'm still surprised that we haven't
Run into each other
Somewhere
In this huge city
In all these years
In essence I was just a boy
That last day
Now there's very little essence left
And I'm old and wrinkled
And it sets me to thinking
On those days that I think of you
That you must be old as well
But I simply can't picture it
My thought version of you
Remains stuck in the 90's
Just a girl in essence yourself
I no longer have any strong feelings
To speak of
About you
Or about us
I'm just curious at the vagaries of life
That decree that we will never cross paths
To say hello
And I just wonder
How you are
And how you've been
I guess I'll never know
Oh well
Such is life
In this huge city
