today's the day for you to start
no need to dwell in misery
smile & laugh spells victory
be kind and appreciate others

Nice, brief poem, with encouraging morality. You make some good points and compare and contrast with your rhymes quite well. Sacrifice and long-suffering, though they may not be pleasant, are always important, particularly in relationships and community. This poem reminds me of that, and that's a pleasant reminder.
