Saturday Swell
The Saturday swell
occupies my waking thoughts
a longing unsatisfied
The coffee hits the bottom of the pot,
that familiar steady ping
waiting to meet my lips
And I think about the unknown entity
that could finish me
How it would be done
and where?
Of course, I have my own ideas
but the joy in such pleasures
is the creativity
another brings
I resist the urge
to do something about it
deciding my odds
of completion
could be better served
if I hold myself in that state
Motivated
to try,
at least
Other days,
I wouldn't be as patient
and would quickly rectify the matter,
but the weekend affords
a bit more time
The result
likely will be the same,
but a man can dream, right?
occupies my waking thoughts
a longing unsatisfied
The coffee hits the bottom of the pot,
that familiar steady ping
waiting to meet my lips
And I think about the unknown entity
that could finish me
How it would be done
and where?
Of course, I have my own ideas
but the joy in such pleasures
is the creativity
another brings
I resist the urge
to do something about it
deciding my odds
of completion
could be better served
if I hold myself in that state
Motivated
to try,
at least
Other days,
I wouldn't be as patient
and would quickly rectify the matter,
but the weekend affords
a bit more time
The result
likely will be the same,
but a man can dream, right?
