WRITING LOVE POEMS

I do not dare to pretend
to know much about love;
what is its chemistry
or how it moves.
I have no credentials
or claims to fame,
but I dare write about
how it has a thousand names.
Because I have loved
and have been loved
I slowly crawl to paper
and humbly raise my pen.
I do not belong among
the great poets in time;
I know very little about structure
or how to form a perfect rhyme.
One thing I know without a doubt
when love dares to speak
to my aching heart
The writing of a poem flows out.
Today my heart is all aglow
because YOUR LOVE has
ignited a new spark...so I
write. Meet me at the Kissing
Place and I'll open my heart.
