Everyone Loves Dogs
Soon to be celebrating 1 year with Onyx
Our rescue dog from Texas
Came with the name Mabel
Changed it to Onyx to honor her Brindle coat
You save a dog
They save you
Nothing new there
My walk is 6am
It’s when NYC is actually quiet
Only people out are
Delivery people and Nurses
Going on a shift or coming home
Sometimes you get a GOOD MORNING
Other people with dogs half asleep
It’s a good life with Onyx
She licks my face often
Smiles and wags
Nothing better

A very regal mutt. and the ginko leaves the ancient grandfather of trees.
Dogs are beautiful creatures, with more manners and grace than humans.

I’ve had 3 dogs in my life and they are all regal.
Dogs make people better hands down.
It’s amazing what we all do to comfort our dogs.
They give so much back without an agenda.

It's up to humans to save our strays.
Onyx was a street dog when found, fortunately not abused as she is wild about people. She's been a great joy and an older dog but with a lot of spunk.

Had a chow chow named Onyx...
I would make her howl...
To the delight of lady I was dating...
Someone literally appeared in the middle of the night
wanted to sell the creature...
She chewed up a brand new table leg and I laughed...
Chows are a rare breed, in that, they are not really trainable...
Thinking of getting another dog...
Thinking of building a barndominium...
Maybe even set up small breeding operation...
Some propose we should only adopt...
I can see that logic...
It is admirable to adopt...

My wife got to name this rescue as I got to name our last dog. She was a real wild child Pointer / Rottweiler mix. I named her Ginger after the character on Gilligan’s Island as she was a pretty lass. I thought I was bring original until I found a lott of Gingers in my nabe. We were sure Onyx was original but I’ve run into 3 more dogs named Onyx. Funny stuff.
Chow’s are cool dogs. I need to do DNA on Onyx. I’m thinking Plott Hound and Whippet. She likes to eat, sleep and sniff urine spots. And lick my face.

Unconditional love. I heard Neil Degrasse Tyson explain that because they’re lives are at 7 times faster than humans, when you come home after a day of work they’re so excited to see you it’s because it feels like it’s been a week for them
