Last Goodbye

It’s inevitable and it cannot be avoided,
But I never thought it’d come so soon.
Saying goodbye to you,
My pappy and my best friend who understands,
Every pain I’d felt.
You left me behind in a world of cruelty,
And idiotic hate.
You left me behind on April 25th, 2012,
And went up to Heaven
Or down to Hell.
Where ever you are,
I’m sure either way you’re proud
Of the outcome.
You didn’t give a fuck,
And that’s why I loved you so much.
You and Mammy were
My best friends in the darkness.
And in June, when I’m sitting
In the horse pasture on the farm
In Kentucky.
I’ll smile down at your favorite horse
And remember that this isn’t
The last goodbye.
