Redemption isn't easy

A man must choose
Then answer to himself
It must come from within
No religion will help
No homilies
I'm a silent cowboy
Sheriff on patrol
Artist on the perimeter
A writer for all seasons
Strive always for goodness
Like every man
Subject to desires
My face
Never to be on a postage stamp
I'll ride incognito
You'll recognize me
Sunday morning
Faithful dog by my side
At dawn
Greeting the fruit man
Waiting for the bakery to open
Warm rolls
Crossiants and scones
Routines and chapters
Goodness comes in all flavors
7 out of 10 Commandments met
Any given day
I'm just a man
I'm flawed
Yet I try
Try some more I will
My mentor said
"It's a long game"
Those words carry me
I'm introducing myself again
To you ....
