Endless Search

Fall winds carry fluttering leaves through the air
Waves crashing upon this rocky shoreline
Ticking like strikes on a clock as I count the moments
The moments until this void in my chest is filled

Long has it been since you left these rocky shores
Long still has been my search for your replacement
As a ship that travels vast waters from harbor to port
Waiting for a cove to weigh anchor and call home
