Pretty prison

Confined fear handcuffed to metal bars

crimes of innocence laid out on a cot

 cemented walls are new confessionals

Prayers slip between pleas

echoing through minds but only reaching the dead.

Painting pictures passing sentences

One photo doesn’t make it a pretty prison?

One lie did make it my own hell
