New Feet
This earth is solid below me
I stand on my newly released feet
Shaking so , one foot in front of the other
Even in quiet wisdom I am a fool, yes the bindings are loose, somehow I thought I’d take off running
But I step and falter , these legs are of no use
I gather myself amongst the ground
Hug myself till the shaking stops
I will stumble, trip and fall
Sometimes I will barely crawl
And yet I will slowly build spiritual muscle and then the day will come and I will be running, broken yet taking flight
I stand on my newly released feet
Shaking so , one foot in front of the other
Even in quiet wisdom I am a fool, yes the bindings are loose, somehow I thought I’d take off running
But I step and falter , these legs are of no use
I gather myself amongst the ground
Hug myself till the shaking stops
I will stumble, trip and fall
Sometimes I will barely crawl
And yet I will slowly build spiritual muscle and then the day will come and I will be running, broken yet taking flight
