The Faerie Festival
The elves had re-risen
In Alfriston
And gate-crashed
The Faeries Ball
They sung
And danced
And quaffed much mead
Then fell into a sleepy state
All of them, one, and all
And whilst they slept
On this moonlit night
Their snores soon
Shook the ground
The music played on
As the fairies danced long
The misty twilight
Drifted, all around
During this wild revelry
The eyes of a dragon
Scoured the vast horizon
Saw the fairies give full sway
On this strange moonlit sky grey
Of the magic in May, in Alfriston
